Robin Webster

Director and Teacher – Pre-K
Although I am brand new to the CPNS community, I have lifelong ties to the College Park area. I grew up in Mt. Rainier and attended the University of Maryland, earning a BS in Family Studies. I began my career in early education at Greenwood School (Hyattsville, MD) and remained a
teacher there for approximately 24 years. I have been married for 25 years and have three children, ages 24, 21, and 13. Our family lived in Berwyn Heights for 24 years and just recently moved to Bowie, MD.

I adore conversations with young children and truly enjoy being a part of their play-based learning experiences. Fred Rogers expressed it best when he said, “When we treat children’s play as seriously as it deserves, we are helping them feel the joy that’s to be found in the creative spirit. We’re helping ourselves stay in touch with that spirit, too. It’s the things we play
with and the people who help us play that make a great difference in our lives.” I love being able to make a difference in the lives of young children and feel that the co-op experience gives parents the perfect opportunity (permission) to play…how exciting!

Teacher – 2s , 3s, and Aftercare

I grew up in Maryland. I have one sister. I’ve been married for over 25 years and have three children. I taught at Holy Redeemer School for 14 years as a special teacher. I always wanted to teach pre-school, but they didn’t have the space to start one. I heard about College Park Nursery School & Kindergarten, and came for an interview, and was hired. I went back to school to finish my degree, and will be done in May 2009!

Teacher – 2/3s and 3/4s, and Aftercare

I grew up in Massachusetts, and lived there until I was 30. I have a BS from the Boston University School of Public Communications. Before my children were born, I was a video and print editor, and Operations Manager and a Law Office Administrator, as well as a self-employed provider of secretarial and administrative services.

My two children attended College Park Nursery School. During that time I was a Board Member and served a term as President of the Board. I was a substitute teacher and aide in the Kindergarten class. When my youngest child left CPNS to begin elementary school, I began my teaching career at a nearby school as a PreK–K teacher.

Now I am back at CPNS, teaching 3 and 4 year olds. I am thrilled—it’s like returning home.
